Pastor –> Paramedic
The adventure has begun. Last week I sent out a letter to the church where I have been a pastor for the last nine years. In the letter I shared that my time as youth pastor will be ending on July 31. My family will be moving to Sioux Falls, SD and I will be starting paramedic school in the fall at Avera School of EMS.
It is truly going to be a bitter sweet time in my life as my entire married and parenting life has been in Washington. I am going to miss many people that have become very good friends, but am also excited to see where God is leading me in this new chapter of my journey.
It’s not you, it’s me
Over the years we have become close friends. There have been good times and bad times. We need to take a break. I will not be hanging out with you for the month of December. I don’t think our relationship is unhealthy, but there are other more important relationships I need to invest in for the next month. I am sure you will still be around when I get back. Guy on a Buffalo
Since tickle a buffalo is on my bucket list, I should probably get some tips from this guy.
Bucket List
I believe bucket lists became popular after the movies A Walk to Remember and The Bucket List. It is a list of things you would like to accomplish before you die or “kick” the bucket. This is my current list and things are constantly being added.
- U2 concert (accomplished 6.4.2011)
- Find a geocache in every state
- Visit the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame
- Eat Turducken
- Own a goat
- Bench press my own weight
- Drive Route 66
- Visit Sherwood Forest
- Tickle a buffalo
