peanut butter and puppies #tribes

Over a month ago I signed on to a group blogging project. You can check out the idea here.
“A tribe is a group of people connected to one another, connected to a leader and connected to an idea.” I have looked at most of the other posts, but haven’t commented, so I feel like I haven’t really joined this Tribe and connected with the other members. I will share some thoughts about the pages I had to read and see where this may lead
Quote 1: “After gaining credibility, paying his dues, doing the work and earning trust, Brad had absolutely nothing to lose by writing that memo.”
Brad believed in Yahoo and felt their needed to be changes. He wanted to be a part of an organization that could evaluate and reform in an evolving market place. Brad had a history with Yahoo and did not want to see them lose their place.
Quote 2: He [Nathan Winogard] didn’t compromise.
On the other hand, I feel Nathan believed in an idea that animals should not be killed. This idea trumped any organization that he was a part of. He took his idea wherever the tribe was willing to come together and when he felt his idea wasn’t being met, he moved on.
These thoughts resonated with me for a number of reasons. I feel as a Christian, I have the idea. The truth that is revealed to me in God’s Word. Nothing can trump this. With Christ’s help, I have to become the best follower that I can be. I cannot compromise my faith and followership of Jesus Christ. Currently I am also part of an organization, the church I work at. Recently on my journey I have thought and prayed about this organization and my place in it.
Does my being a part of this organization benefit the idea as best it can? Is this organization moving in the direction that supports the idea even if it might not be the way I would do it? Is there a tribe here that is making a difference for the idea?
I do not know if I have any conclusions right now. I think the answers are still unfolding and right now, I am recalibrating my personal self with the idea and and getting plugged back into the organization.
Questions for thought:
Do you believe in an idea that you would not compromise for anything?
What organizations are you a part of?
How are those organizations adapting and changing?
